Last post I told you what happened to my pc. So I needed to install Ubuntu here and I decided to give Dapper Drake a try. I found a time to do this (the java course ended and I will come back to Compuware only next week) and I did.
Then I decided to work on the next IEs4Liunux release that fixes some bugs (with download-dyn, flash movies, javascript console and others – thanks to everyone that wrote these things to me).
Well, sweet ilusion. I installed cabextract and wine (from winehq, version 0.9.8) but nothing works. IEs4Linux seems to install ok but when you call ie6 nothing works and a bizarre error shows up (I never had seen this before):
se@ubuntu:~$ ie6 err:heap:HEAP_CreateSystemHeap system heap base address 0x80000000 not available fixme:actctx:CreateActCtxW stub! err:heap:HEAP_CreateSystemHeap system heap base address 0x80000000 not available err:heap:HEAP_GetPtr Invalid heap (nil)! err:heap:HEAP_GetPtr Invalid heap (nil)! err:heap:HEAP_GetPtr Invalid heap (nil)! err:heap:HEAP_GetPtr Invalid heap (nil)!
I tryed to downgrade to the wine package officially supported on Dapper (wine 0.9.6) but I got the same error. If you have any idea, please tell me (Google did’t help) so I can restart working on IEs4Linux (or wait until I have another spare time to install another ditro).
(Note: Ubuntu 5.04, the stable ubuntu release, still works fine, including with latest wine 0.9.8)
And just to complete the last post, I am SCPJ now! (I think the last post doesn’t say that clearly)
I took the test on February 13 and passed!
