Okay, many of you may though I was dead. Last IEs4Linux update was last year (on December) and I have lots of e-mail to reply since January. The good news are: I am not dead. Bad news: I had some problems lately.

First I took off vacations in January (here, in Brazil, it’s Summer, remember?). When I came back my primary partition was gone with my Ubuntu Linux and my work environment. I had to use my old Gentoo partition (last updated on October). All my stuff was not there and I had troubles with Wine. After a month, my Gentoo partition was gone too. (I think my hd isn’t soo good :-P )

But all this scenario could be worst. People at Compuware Brazil (do you know? :-P) was interested on my work because what they heard about IEs4Linux over the Internet (thank you guys). So I started to work there full time. To complicate a little bit, I had to study to take my SCJP Certification (Sun Certified Java Programmer) and I started to teach Java at Caelum (local Java Trainning School).

Profissionally everything is great. But I had no time to fix my computer and to restart working on IEs4Linux. Many e-mails are waiting answers (many of them with great improvements to IEs4Linux). Now I am trying to make everything back again. Here are the next steps:

  • Fix my old computer (it has more than 6 years now) and reinstall Ubuntu
  • Make an IEs4Linux forum to help me answer all questions (no more contacts by e-mail)
  • Change tatanka.com.br (and IEs4Linux) host to dreamhost.com
  • Buy a new computer, probably a laptop
  • Release a new version of IEs4Linux

About the new computer, I am thinking on a Sony Vaio SZ series. Many people told me that Sony Vaio have excelent performance and excelent Linux compatibility (instead of those ATI based computers). If anyone knows how to buy a Sony Vaio with discount, please contact me. If anyone wants to help me buy this new computer by donating something, please let me know too :-)

My e-mail is slopes at gmail dot com.
